We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team in Grove City, Ohio in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This position supports day-to-day accounting and administrative operations, with a strong focus on payroll, payables, receivables, and reporting for project needs. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in financial coordination, communicates effectively across teams and external partners, and is comfortable balancing office support responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process payroll and handle related activities such as tax withholdings, retirement contributions, and other payroll records.
• Support accounts payable by reviewing and entering invoices from subcontractors, vendors, and other business partners.
• Assist with accounts receivable functions, including preparing customer invoices and tracking incoming payments.
• Compile project-related financial details and generate reports for Project Managers to support ongoing job oversight.
• Coordinate with banking partners as needed and help gather documentation for audit and compliance reviews.
• Maintain organized paper and digital records, including scanning, archiving, and filing business documents and project plans.
• Work with insurance providers by supplying information related to coverage, claims, workers’ compensation, and general liability matters.
• Share front desk coverage during business hours by greeting visitors, directing guests, answering basic inquiries, and receiving deliveries.
• Draft business documents such as procedures, correspondence, records, and other written materials for management review and use.
• Provide clerical and administrative assistance to leadership and staff, including handling document reproduction and general office support tasks.• 3+ years of experience in an accounting support, bookkeeping, or administrative accounting role.
• Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and invoice coding.
• Experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage 100.
• Ability to assist with bank reconciliations, audit preparation, and local payroll tax-related tasks.
• Strong numerical accuracy and data entry skills, including proficiency with 10-key input.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, banks, vendors, visitors, and insurance contacts.
• Comfortable supporting receptionist and front office responsibilities in an on-site environment.
• Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining both electronic and physical filing systems.
