Cloud Infrastructure Architect

Cloud Infrastructure ArchitectWe are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support our client in Austin, Texas on a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite/week). This role will focus on the design and architecture of IT modernization and transformation initiatives supporting Data Center Operations and enterprise Service Delivery programs.You will lead architecture strategy and cross-functional workgroups, delivering high-quality solution designs that address organization-wide technology needs. You'll partner closely with Service Delivery leadership, the CTO, Enterprise Architects, portfolio managers, application development teams, business stakeholders, and other key partners. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating both independently and as part of a program team, and can apply Agile/Scrum practices to support application enhancements and infrastructure evolution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead architecture and design efforts for data center modernization, cloud/hybrid transformation, and service delivery initiativesProduce architecture artifacts including current/future state designs, roadmaps, reference architectures, and standardsProvide hands-on technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, networking, automation, security, and operationsGuide teams on cloud delivery models (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) and best practices for availability, scalability, and resiliencePartner with engineering and operations teams to support Kubernetes clusters, serverless platforms, and cloud integrations/APIsDefine and promote IaC/automation practices (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM templates)Ensure architectures align with security, compliance, and data governance requirementsSupport implementation of observability, monitoring, logging, and auditing using cloud-native and third-party toolsLead best practices development, documentation, and technical standards across teamsManage priorities across multiple initiatives and deadlines; provide direction and mentorship to team membersRequirements:7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, and computer operating systems.7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding of new cloud technologies and the analytical services available from the major cloud services providers7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding of cloud delivery models: PaaS, SaaS, IaaS7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding of agile (scrum) methodology and scrum ceremonies.7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding of cloud-based services for AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding of cloud-based network design principles7 Strong knowledge in data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments7 Strong technical writing and diagraming skills, including proficiency with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio), the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project7 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience as a technology architect for software development, data analytics, performance management system, or data warehousing project7 Skill analyzing technology systems capabilities, limitations, defects, and business problems to draw evidence-based conclusions and devise innovative solutions7 Experience and understanding of cloud computing DevOps principles Continuous Integration/Continuous Design (CI/CD). Experience with Containerization, deploying and configuring microservices. Kubernetes architecture deployment, scaling, and maintenance7 Support application Kubernetes cluster and serverless infrastructure, help address any associated API's pertaining to cloud infrastructure services and integrations7 Work on cloud automation using Ansible, Terraform, AWS cloud formation and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates7 Experience and understanding with cloud and performance monitoring, auditing logging, and operations tools such as: Sysdig Secure (CNAPP), Dynatrace, Cloud native toolsets (AWS CloudWatch, GCP Cloud Operations, Azure Monitor, OCI Monitoring, etc.).7 Proficient automation skillset using a combination of command language scripting (Bash, Korn, PowerShell, Cloud CLI, Kubernetes Helm) and third-party tools7 Knowledge, Experience and understanding with declarative and imperative languages (YAML, JSON, Ruby, HCL, etc.) and tools that are leveraged (Ansible, Docker, Terraform, etc) to leverage infrastructure-as-code (IaC).7 Ability to work under pressure and successfully manage multiple overlapping deadlines, and able to handle multiple cross-agency projects7 Ability to coordinate multiple assignments/projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines7 Ability to lead and provide direction to team members7 Ability to lead the creation of best practices and proceduresPreferred8+ Knowledge, Experience and understanding of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, and computer operating systems.8+ Knowledge, Experience and understanding of new cloud technologies and the analytical services available from the major cloud services providers8+ Knowledge, Experience and understanding of cloud delivery models: PaaS, SaaS, IaaS8+ Knowledge, Experience and understanding of cloud-based services for AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP8+ Knowledge, Experience and understanding of cloud-based network design principles8 Experience and understanding of cloud computing DevOps principles Continuous Integration/Continuous Design (CI/CD).
