Job Description

The Machine Builder assembles pedestal booms and hydraulic power units in a production environment, following detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and standardized work instructions. This role focuses on precise mechanical and hydraulic assembly, functional testing, and quality inspection to ensure each unit meets performance, safety, and reliability standards. The position requires strong technical aptitude, careful attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pedestal booms and hydraulic power units in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and established work instructions.
• Perform mechanical and hydraulic assembly, including installation and connection of components, fittings, hoses, cylinders, motors, pumps, valves, and related hardware.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and detailed work instructions to complete assemblies accurately.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and assembly equipment safely and effectively during daily tasks.
• Perform precision assembly and fine adjustments to ensure proper fit, alignment, operation, and overall product quality.
• Inspect components at various stages of assembly and conduct final inspection on completed products to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Identify assembly problems, determine potential causes, and make appropriate adjustments or corrections to resolve issues.
• Perform functional testing of completed assemblies and assist with troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems as needed.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records, documenting work performed and inspection results as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Adhere consistently to all safety guidelines and participate in maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3+ years of machine assembly or industrial machine building experience.
• Proven experience with installation and repair of hydraulic systems, including hoses, cylinders, pumps, valves, and related components.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems related to industrial machinery, including basic wiring and electrical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
• Strong mechanical assembly skills with the ability to build complex machines and subassemblies.
• Proficiency in hydraulic assembly and troubleshooting.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly tools safely and effectively.
• Capability to perform precise adjustments to ensure proper fit, alignment, and operation of mechanical and hydraulic assemblies.
• Ability to identify assembly issues, analyze potential causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Strong adherence to safety practices and OSHA requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills to work with supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Walton Hills, OH.

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
