The Underwriter will be responsible for all aspects of portfolio management, including solicitation of submissions, underwriting analysis, preparing and issuing indications/quotations/binders, and tracking new business pipeline.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop, oversee and underwrite the construction excess businessAchieve budgeted premium goalsDevelop retail and wholesale brokerage relationshipsManage production and excess construction staff in the regionJob RequirementsCandidates should be organized, disciplined insurance underwriting professionals that can work effectively in a dynamic environment and possess the following:At least 3 years’ experience underwriting mid to large construction excess accountsMust have relationships with construction brokersMust possess technical casualty underwriting capabilitiesProven sales and business development skills in a dynamic marketplaceStrong verbal, written and interpersonal skillsAdvanced proficiency in computer applications: Excel, Word and PowerPointBachelor’s degree preferredNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
