Superintendent Job SummaryApex Building Company, LLC is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Superintendent to join our team. The Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of construction projects from initiation to completion. This position ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications, timelines, and budgets. The Superintendent serves as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, field personnel, and project stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and proactive problem-solving throughout the construction lifecycle. This position is classified as full-time, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required based on project deadlines.Job ResponsibilitiesProject OversightManage daily operations at the construction site, ensuring work progresses according to scheduleCoordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to maintain workflow and productivityMonitor project milestones and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlinesQuality & ComplianceInspect work regularly to ensure it meets plans, specifications, and quality standardsEnforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and local building codesAddress and resolve any issues related to workmanship, materials, or site conditionsReporting & DocumentationMaintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and incident recordsCommunicate updates to project managers and clientsTrack material deliveries, labor hours, and equipment usageLeadership & CommunicationLead and motivate field teams to maintain high morale and performanceFacilitate clear communication between architects, engineers, and tradesResolve conflicts and troubleshoot delays or disruptions on siteBudget & Resource ManagementMonitor resource allocation to ensure cost-effective use of labor and materialsAssist in managing change orders and minimizing budget overrunsSupport procurement and inventory tracking for site materialsEmployee Timesheet ReviewConfirm that all time entries are complete, correctly dated, and match scheduled hoursCheck for missed punches, duplicate entries, or inconsistencies in break timesEnsure overtime, PTO, and job specific hours are properly recordedApproval of time sheets to payroll by required deadlineCrew Supervision & LeadershipDirect and supervise field crews to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to specificationDelegate responsibilities based on crew members’ skills and experienceMotivate and coach team members to maintain high performance and moraleDaily Operations & SchedulingCoordinate daily work activities according to project plans and prioritiesAdjust schedules and crew assignments based on weather, material availability, and site conditionsEnsure timely completion of assigned scopes, including waterproofing installationsSafety & ComplianceEnforce safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE and equipmentConduct daily safety briefings and site inspectionsMaintain compliance with OSHA standards and company policiesCommunicate with Safety Manager for site specific safety plans, etc.Quality ControlInspect work for quality and adherence to specifications, especially waterproofing systems like membranes, sealants, and coatingsIdentify and correct deficiencies in workmanship or materialsCommunication & ReportingServe as the primary point of contact between field crews and site leadershipCommunicates progress, challenges, and needs to the Field Operations ManagerMaintain accurate records of crew hours, material usage, and daily progressEquipment & Material ManagementEnsure tools and equipment are in good working condition and properly usedCoordinate delivery and staging of materials to support uninterrupted workflowTraining & DevelopmentTrain new crew members on job-site procedures, safety standards, and waterproofing techniquesSupport ongoing skill development and cross-training within the teamJob RequirementsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred3+ years hands on experience in waterproofing constructionOSHA 30 certification requiredAdditional safety or waterproofing certification preferredAbility to travel frequently between job sites, including overnight and same day tripsValid driver’s license and reliable transportationAbility to obtain and maintain vehicle insuranceCommunication and Interpersonal SkillsStrong leadership and team coordination skillsExcellent communication and conflict resolution abilitiesAbility to delegate tasks and manager crew productivityKnowledge of waterproofing systems, tools, and installation techniquesFamiliarity with safety regulations and job site compliance standardsTechnical ProficiencyBasic proficiency with mobile apps or software used for HR, time tracking, reporting, or job site documentationAbility to complete daily logs, material requests, and crew reports accuratelyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive)Experience with project management softwareAbility to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical submittalsAbility to generate and interpret daily field reports, punch lists, and other required documentationKnowledge of OSHA standards and ability to implement site-specific safety plansAbility to read and use a tape measureAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsOSHA 30 certification requiredAdditional safety or trade certifications is a plusPhysical DemandsRegular Physical ActivitiesWalking and standing for
