Certified Medical Assistant - Urogynecology

Job Summary We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join Duke Urogynecology at Patterson Place in Durham, NC. The Medical Assistant will provide direct and indirect patient care as a key member of the healthcare team. Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform patient intake, including vital signs, visit information, and other clinical data. Take telephone messages, document encounters, follow clinic protocols, and inform providers. Administer medications per provider orders or established protocols, ensuring the six rights of medication administration. Participate in performance improvement projects. Set up for clinical procedures and perform high‑level disinfection & sterilization or other tasks within scope. Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as required. Provide float coverage in the clinic to meet patient and provider needs as delegated. Job Eligibility Requirements Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES) strongly preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA‑CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required. BLS certification required. Job Hours Day shifts, Monday‑Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
