Acting Out, a performing arts school for children and teens, is looking for a warm, outgoing, organized, and dependable person to join our Metuchen team.

As our Client Relations Associate, you'll be one of the first people our families see when they arrive and an important part of creating the friendly, energetic atmosphere we want every student and parent to experience at Acting Out.

This is a great position for someone who genuinely enjoys people . Many of our families are with us for years, so we're looking for someone who likes getting to know students and parents, starting conversations, answering questions, and making people feel welcome.

You'll also help with the everyday administrative tasks that keep the studio organized and running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Welcome students and families as they arrive
• Answer phone calls, emails, and questions from current and prospective families
• Help families learn about our classes, camps, private lessons, and other programs
• Assist with registration, scheduling, enrollment, and basic billing questions
• Communicate with instructors and help with the daily flow of classes
• Keep the front desk and lobby organized
• Pitch in where needed to help the studio run smoothly
• Occasionally assist with performances, showcases, and special events
• Potentially help with social media, photos, videos, and promotional content

Who We're Looking For

You don't need to have worked at a performing arts school before. We're much more interested in finding someone with the right personality, communication skills, and reliability .

You may be a great fit if you are:

• Friendly, upbeat, and comfortable starting conversations
• Confident interacting with both children and adults
• Professional and personable on the phone, in person, and through email
• Organized and able to handle several things happening at once
• Dependable and consistent
• Comfortable answering questions and helping people solve problems
• Comfortable with computers and willing to learn new systems
• Someone who enjoys being part of a team and pitching in when needed

Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, reception, office administration, education, childcare, retail, or another people-focused position is helpful.

Experience with Google Workspace, scheduling or CRM systems, Canva, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, photography, video, or social media content creation is a plus.

An interest in theatre or the performing arts is also a plus, but theatre experience is not required .

Schedule

This is an in-person position at our Metuchen studio .

The regular school-year schedule is approximately Monday through Friday, 2:00–7:00 PM .

Because our families depend on seeing a familiar face at the studio, we're looking for someone who can consistently commit to this schedule.

Occasional weekend availability may be needed for performances or special events. Additional daytime hours may also be available during summer camps.

Compensation

$19–$22 per hour, based on experience.

Opportunity for Growth

Acting Out's Metuchen location is continuing to grow. For someone who enjoys the position and wants to take on more over time, there may be opportunities for additional hours and increased responsibility as the studio grows.

Acting Out is a family-owned performing arts school with locations in Westfield and Metuchen, New Jersey. We offer classes and private instruction in Acting, Musical Theatre, Voice, Improv, and Film & TV for children and teens.
