Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) II Location: Arlington, VA (On‑Site) Citizenship: US only Clearance: Active TS/SCI (DHS EOD Suitability required) Company: Argo Cyber Systems, LLC – Service‑Disabled Veteran‑Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Argo Cyber Systems provides mission‑critical cybersecurity support to U.S. Government agencies and critical infrastructure owners nationwide, delivering rapid incident response, advanced forensics, and coordinated recovery operations. Role and Responsibilities Works independently without supervision Contributes to the completion of specific capability deployments Serves as subject matter expert (SME), possessing in‑depth knowledge of the client’s operational environment Provides extensive technical knowledge and analysis of exceptionally complex problems for effective development and implementation of solutions Possesses wide experience in the application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the required technical field, and full knowledge of related disciplines Provides technical expertise in a particular area of IT (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Host Systems Analysis, Security Engineering, Network Systems Management, or a specific client functional area such as incident management, network analysis, host analysis) Qualifications, Education and Skills Requirements Active high‑level security clearance required as part of client contract requirement US Citizenship required Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in IT, Cyber, or a related field Ability to provide expert‑level support, analysis, and research with only broad direction on exceptionally complex problems and processes relating to the subject matter Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practicable Extensive experience serving as a technical expert on executive‑level teams, providing direction, interpretation, and alternatives Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of an assignment or task Proven ability to guide the successful completion of major onsite deployments, complex engineering, cyber response activities, and surge support when required Additional Desires and Considerations Strong interpersonal and communication skills to explain technical details to clients Practical experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript Experience with the Databricks Intelligence Platform Experience with system vulnerability assessments Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating system security Knowledge of computer programming and scripting languages Excellent written and verbal communication skills Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience CompTIA Security+ or higher certification level preferred Company Benefits Industry‑competitive employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plans.
