This role involves providing acute recovery care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including total hips/knees, general surgery, neuro, urology, and procedures involving daVinci technology. The position requires clinical expertise in post anesthesia recovery and the ability to interpret EKG strips. Job Details Position: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse Location: Not specified (healthcare organization) Schedule: Rotating shifts with varied start times from 0500 to 0930; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA); minimum 2 years of acute recovery experience; valid license to practice Preferred Qualifications: Experience with moderate to complex patient cases including ICU patients until beds open up in the unit Responsibilities: Managing total hips/knees, general, neuro, urology, and DaVinci robot-assisted procedures; providing patient monitoring, interpretation of EKGs, and post anesthesia recovery care; responding to emergencies within scope of practice Shift Notes: Will include a combination of 12-hour shifts any day Monday through Friday and call shifts approximately 5 weekends and 8 weeknights per quarter; call response time is 30 minutes Additional Information: Unit has 8 PACU beds and 7 Pre-Cert beds; nurse staffing ratios are 1:1 or 1:2; float rotation may be required between units as needed; orientation includes 1-2 days with preceptor in PACU Benefits The benefits of taking a travel assignment with Cross Country include: Private housing or generous housing allowance Comprehensive health insurance with prescription coverage Dependent health insurance with prescription coverage Competitive salaries Referral bonuses Travel reimbursement 401(k) retirement plan Direct deposit/free checking Unlimited free CE credits Cross Country Job ID 1306703.
