About the Position

We are seeking an Adult Neurologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Orangeburg, SC . The physician will provide a combination of outpatient clinic & inpatient hospital coverage during a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule.

The outpatient clinic is located approximately 5 minutes from the hospital and less than 1 mile away . After completing the clinic schedule, the physician will return to the hospital for inpatient coverage.

The physician will also be expected to provide consultation for stroke patients . Overnight coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM is provided through telemedicine.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate & manage adult neurology patients
• Provide outpatient neurology clinic coverage
• Provide inpatient neurology coverage
• Consult on stroke patients
• Evaluate & manage neurological conditions in the hospital setting
• Coordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Complete timely clinical documentation in Epic
• Transition between outpatient clinic & inpatient hospital coverage as scheduled

7 days on / 7 days off

Monday through Sunday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

• Approximately 3–4 hours per day in the outpatient clinic
• Remaining scheduled time provides inpatient hospital coverage
• Stroke consultations included
• No call
• Telemedicine provides overnight coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an accredited Neurology fellowship/residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
• Board eligibility must be within 5 years
• American Board Certification required
• Stroke Certification required
• Epic experience required
• Active South Carolina medical license or license ready to be issued at time of presentation
• Prior travel/locum experience required
• No telehealth experience required
