MRI Technologist I - Outpatient

Position Objective Performs rout i ne and comp l e x M RI procedures in accordance w i th establ i shed safe ty and qual i ty standards and the specia l needs of pat i ents. Essential Job Duties Processes MR I scan sequences ; ver ifi es demographics and technical i nformat i on ; chec k s technica l qual i ty of i mages . Participates as a member of a spec i al i z ed med i cal team in performing spec i al i z ed MR I scans of v arious organs and i n prepar i ng patients for spec ifi c procedures . R e v i e w s patholog y , surgica l , and other reports to mon i tor pat i ent progress and pro v i de a means for e v aluating the accurac y of MR I e xaminat i ons . Constant l y assesses pat i ent's condition and administers first aid as requ i red ; ass i sts ph y s i c i ans in cases of ad v erse reactions or emergenc i es . Confers w i th the Supervisor to recommend changes , report problems and pro v i de feedbac k on improving pat i ent care , technica l qua l i ty and c l erica l functions . M on i tors equ i pment performance and reports prob l ems to the M anager ; records malfunctions as requ i red . Educational/Experience Requirements Successful completion of a one -year accredited program in MR I Technology or ARRT MR I certification Current with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements Required License / Certifications Current State of Maryland Licensure (preferred) ARRT (MRI) or ARMIRT (required American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required) Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands There i s a reasonable e x pectat i on that emplo y ees i n th i s pos i t i on w i ll not be e x posed to blood-borne pathogens .
