Journeyman Pipefitter

The Journeyman Pipefitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Olathe, KS supporting commercial and industrial construction projects across the Kansas City metro area. This position pays $28-$35 per hour based on experience and requires 4+ years of commercial pipefitting work. The Journeyman Pipefitter installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC, hydronic, steam, and compressed air systems while working independently or as part of a project team. What We Offer $28-$35 per hour, full-time schedule on active commercial construction projects Consistent work on mid-to-large scale mechanical systems in the Kansas City region Collaborative job site environment working alongside experienced trades professionals Opportunity to apply advanced pipefitting skills across diverse system types and builds Steady project pipeline with clear daily responsibilities and field leadership support Key Responsibilities - Journeyman Pipefitter Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems including HVAC, hydronic, steam, and compressed air lines per project blueprints and specifications. Ensure all work meets applicable local codes and safety standards. Measure, cut, thread, groove, and fit pipes using hand and power tools including threaders, groovers, and welding equipment. Perform pressure testing and troubleshoot system issues as they arise. Install valves, hangers, and pipe supports according to design drawings and load requirements. Document all completed work and report progress or field discrepancies to the project foreman. Coordinate daily activities with project managers, foremen, and other trades to maintain job site workflow. Maintain a clean, organized, and code-compliant work area throughout each phase of the project. Adhere to all OSHA safety requirements, company safety protocols, and site-specific regulations at all times. Identify and communicate any plan conflicts or field conditions that may impact the project schedule. Qualifications - Journeyman Pipefitter Journeyman Pipefitter certification (UA or state-recognized equivalent) or documented equivalent field experience 4+ years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience with HVAC, hydronic, steam, or mechanical systems Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and project specifications Proficiency with pipefitting tools and equipment including pipe threaders, groovers, pipe wrenches, and welding tools Working knowledge of piping materials including carbon steel, copper, and PVC; valid driver's license preferred Preferred Qualifications - Commercial Mechanical Pipe Tradesperson Welding certification in TIG, MIG, or stick welding processes is a plus OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred Experience on large-scale commercial construction or mechanical contracting projects Familiarity with BIM coordination tools or advanced pipe layout systems Physical Requirements - Journeyman Pipefitter Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 75 lbs regularly throughout the workday Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in variable outdoor weather conditions Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing of ladders or scaffolding for extended periods Manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination required for precision tool and pipe assembly work Full-time, on-site schedule; overtime may be required based on project deadlines and site conditions #J-18808-Ljbffr JARBO
