Occupational Therapist

Role Overview The Per Diem Occupational Therapist assesses and evaluates patients' functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor skills, home environment, and adaptive equipment needs based on medical conditions. They collaborate with physicians to develop therapy plans, monitor patient responses, and document changes in health. The therapist educates patients, families, and healthcare team members to promote participation in therapy, ensuring care is provided regardless of patient background. Key Responsibilities Evaluate patient function and occupational therapy needs; consult with physicians on care plans. Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes. Conduct assessments using diagnostic tests to determine functional ability. Educate patients, families, and caregivers to facilitate participation in therapy. Adapt care to any home situation, respecting diverse backgrounds. Qualifications & Skills Current Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice. Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to reliable transportation. Preferred: CPR certification, ability to multitask, work independently, and strong communication and organizational skills.
