Residential Curbside Collection Specialist (Solid Waste) Pay Range: $23.49/hr. - $34.06/hr. $1000.00 Sign on Bonus available. Driver will transport the material to a disposal, transferor recycle facility when trucks reach legal load capacity. Driver safely maneuvers vehicles in residential environments. Navigates high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots. Illustrative Duties Toperformthis jobsuccessfully, anindividual mustbeable toperform the following tasks. Operates collection vehicle in accordance with Polk County Rules, OSHA (OccupationalandSafetyHealthAct)andDOT(DepartmentofTransportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws. May operate Heavy Equipment such as front-end loader, roll-off, haul truck, water truck, roller, and forklift. Performspre-andpost-tripinspectionsofassignedvehicleanddocumentschecks utilizing the standard VCR (Vehicle Condition Report). Operateheavy-dutytruckandcollectresidentialhouseholdwasteand/or recyclable material. Immediatelyreportsallunsafesituationsorservice-relatedissuestoWaste& Recycling Shop Supervisor. Attendsandparticipatesinallscheduledtrainingprograms,briefings,and meetings as required and/or directed by Management. WorkscloselywithDataAnalysttoimproverouteefficienciesandidentifybest practices. NotifiesManagementof anyincidents,accidents,injures,orproperty damage. Notifies Management of service interruptions including closed or impassable streetsoralleyways, receptaclestooheavytoserviceorpotentialsafetyhazards. Communicatescustomer requeststoCustomerServiceandtheData Analyst. Completelycollectsallreceptaclesandleavesthecustomer'slocationcleanand free of debris/litter. Followsrouteassignmentsasdirectedandcompletesendofdaydocumentation and check out process. Lead team members to assist with the collection of residential household waste and/orrecyclablematerial.Maintain&supportteaminitiativesthrougheffective leadership. PerformsalldutiesasscheduledbyManagementandassistingotherdriversas directed to meet customer needs. Operatesrequiredtechnologyforreportingof“impropersetout”,“Bulk”,“Yard Waste”, “Cart Repair/Replace”, or other GPS and Routing feature(s). Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Proficiencyintheoperationofheavyequipmentandunderstandingoffacilityoperations; Demonstrable skills and knowledge to ensure safe and efficient operations at the facility. Abilitytoworkflexiblehoursanddays,undervariousweatherandenvironmental conditions, to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility. Abilitytoadheretoworkscheduleandfollowthrough onchallengesasthey arise. Abilitytoadheretocountypoliciesandrulessetforth;Abilitytobealeaderinpromoting the facility’s safety standards and not take inappropriate risks. DemonstrateknowledgeretentionasitrelatestoFederal/State/Countylaws,ordinances, and permit regulations. Abilityto followthroughon allassignments and tasks. Abilitytoadheretoworkscheduleandfollowsthroughonchallengesasthey arise. Abilityandskills todisplay afeeling ofpridein work and achieveallgoals. Abilitytodemonstrateequipmentuptimeoptimizationthroughgeneraltroubleshootingof potential maintenance failures during the performance of operation. Abilitytoassistinpreventativemaintenance andminorrepairsof assignedequipment. Outstandingcustomerservicesskillstomeetandexceedthedivisionandcustomers’ expectations, acting in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers. Demonstratecontinuousefforttoimproveoperations,decreaseturnaround/cycletimes, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Minimum Qualifications Must hold a valid CDL A or B Commercial Florida Driver’s License with an air-brake endorsement at the time of employment. 5 years’ experience in Residential Curbside Waste Collection (ASL or REL). Special Requirements Must have and maintain a home telephone or immediate access to communication to and from workplace at time of employment. 10 years’ experience in residential curbside collection, to include adherence landfill and transfer station policies and procedures.
