Vice President, Technical Accounting Advisory

To complement its existing Transaction Advisory Services offering, Kroll is continuing to grow its Technical Accounting Advisory practice. This team provides commercially focused technical accounting advice across the entire deal continuum, from the assessment of pre deal accounting complexities to post close financial reporting. The team provides specialist accounting advice to clients across a range of areas, often working as part of cross-functional teams including Transaction Advisory Services, Tax and Valuations.We are seeking a high-caliberindividual looking to build on their current technical knowledge and commercial experience to take on a leadership role within this team. The individual will be responsible for driving the growth an existing book of work with a clear career progression path to Director and on to Managing Director on an accelerated basis.Day-to-day responsibilities:Help identify efficient and effective solutions to technical accounting and transaction issues and deliver these solutions to our clientsExecute and lead technical accounting workstreams, including preparation and review of deliverables, including technical memos, supporting workbooks, and financial statement disclosuresAssessing the appropriate treatment for complex or judgemental accounting issues, e.g., revenue recognition, financial instruments, share-based payments, Fresh Start Accounting, GAAP conversions etc.Work on a collaborative basis across our practiceConsistently deliver excellent client serviceContribute on a proactive basis to the leadership and direction of our group through the on-going development of internal and external relationshipsAbility to understand the problems and issues in achieving the required client outcomes and to be able to research the potential solutions autonomously and through consultation with colleaguesAssist with various business development initiativesBachelor’s in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related disciplineCPA Certification RequiredMinimum 5 years US GAAP technical accounting experience (in particular ASC 805, ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 815, ASC 470)ASC 852 Bankruptcy experience would be a positive but is not mandatory Public accounting experienceExperience in writing technical accounting memorandumsKey interest in M&A advisory; accounting due diligence; purchase price allocations; fresh start accounting; financial instrumentsEssential traits:Strong interpersonal, communication, marketing, sales and organizational skillsHigh proficiency in the use Microsoft Office, with focus on Excel, PowerPoint and WordExcellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communitiesExperience working with diverse teamsAbout KrollJoin the global leader in risk and financial advisory solutions—Kroll.
