Join to apply for the Industrial Engineer - Machining role at Hoshizaki America Job Summary Under direct supervision, assists with planning activities for equipment layouts in production facilities. Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and parts, and evaluates other miscellaneous cost factors. Supports industrial engineering (IE) activities for two facilities (Peachtree City, GA and Griffin, GA). Travel is required between the two facilities. Essential Job Functions Coordinates equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities. Ensures compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines. Evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance; reduce waste and delays; and promote cost control/reductions. Tracks and reports metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks. Assists with the establishment of accident prevention measures. Plans and schedules training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation. Leads 5S methods, continuous process improvements, Kaizen programs, and quality initiatives. Maintains process routes for parts and finished goods. Maintains production standards for fabricated parts and finished goods. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field, up to two years of experience. Knowledge of fundamental engineering theories, principles, and concepts. Experience in process setups, especially in machining and fabrication. Physical Demands Sit, stand, walk, and lift objects up to 51 lbs. Operate tools and machinery, and perform manual labor as needed. Visual acuity for detailed inspection and data analysis. Communicate effectively with team members. Travel as required, with visual acuity to operate motor vehicles. Work Environment Combination of office and manufacturing/warehouse settings. Awareness of hazards such as electricity, moving equipment, chemicals, and contaminants. Use of PPE required. Environmental conditions include outdoor elements like heat, cold, and precipitation.
