Neonatologist

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced, Board Certified neonatologist for a per diem opportunity in Syracuse, NY. This role involves providing high-quality care in a physician-friendly, team-oriented environment across two premier hospitals: St. Josephs Health Hospital and Upstate Community Hospital. The position offers an excellent chance to contribute to a leading medical group focused on specialized care for women, babies, and children.

- Work in a physician friendly, team-oriented environment providing high quality care at two premier hospitals: St. Josephs Health Hospital and Upstate Community Hospital.
- St. Josephs Health Hospital features a 14-bed Level III NICU with 24/7 in-house APP coverage; physicians take call from home.
- St. Josephs Health Hospital has approximately 1800 deliveries annually with 200+ NICU admissions.
- Subspecialty support is available through SUNY Upstate and associated groups at St. Josephs Health Hospital.
- Upstate Community Hospital features 21 couplet care/postpartum rooms and 6 extra care nursery beds with 24/7 in-house APP coverage and NICU specialized nursing; physician call from home.
- Upstate Community Hospital has approximately 1000 deliveries annually, caring for infants 34+ weeks and those requiring oxygen, HFNC, or gavage feeding.
Responsibilities
- Provide per diem coverage as a neonatologist.
- Provide high quality care at St. Josephs Health Hospital and Upstate Community Hospital.
- Daytime rounding in-house at either the Level 1 or Level 3 Monday-Friday.
- Out of House call 14 hours for both units Monday-Thursday, usually the doc covering the L3 for the day.
- Friday-Sunday call for both units by the same provider all 3 days.
- Saturday-Sunday IH rounding on both units.
- Coverage at Upstate Community Hospital includes 98% of well babies.
Compensation
- Competitive compensation package.
Shift & Schedule
- Per Diem coverage is intermittent but there is a coverage need from October 11-14.
Requirements
- Board Certification in Neonatology with recent experience required. xihmbke
