Job Description

Job Summary:
The Central Supply Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for disinfecting, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments and equipment to ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital standards. This role requires flexibility to work evenings and nights, along with float coverage across various units.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and endoscopes following established protocols.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as steam sterilizers and low-temperature sterilizers.
• Manage endoscope reprocessing, including high-level disinfection and handling of loaner trays.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, equipment, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control policies.
• Adapt to evolving unit needs, including weekend shifts and float assignments.

Qualifications:

• Hold CRCST (HSPA) certification; other preferred certifications include CER, CIS, or CHL.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of SPD experience, with recent case pick and sterilization expertise.
• Have at least 2 prior travel assignments of 13+ weeks each.
• Demonstrate 1-year experience in a level 1 academic medical center with 20+ ORs.
• Be familiar with Olympus scopes, washer systems, and loaner trays.
• Exhibit experience with robotic, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, ENT, dental, and other specialty service lines.
