Sample Supports is seeking a motivated Job Development Coordinator to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities identify, obtain, and maintain meaningful community employment. This position combines direct vocational support, employer outreach, job placement, documentation, and program development. You will evaluate each person’s employment interests, strengths, skills, and support needs and then work with local employers to find an appropriate job match. Successful candidates are independent, organized, relationship-focused, and motivated by helping others achieve their vocational goals. This hourly, non-exempt position may require morning, evening, weekend, and occasional holiday availability based on employment and service needs. What You’ll Be DoingEvaluate individuals’ employment interests, job readiness, strengths, work skills, and support needsAssist with resumes, applications, interviews, onboarding, job retention, and advancementIdentify appropriate job matches that promote informed choice, workplace inclusion, and long-term employment stabilityDevelop and maintain partnerships with inclusive community employersProvide job coaching and other direct services according to each individual’s service and employment plansCreate job-readiness activities, work-skills training, and individualized employment strategiesTeach and model professional communication, reliability, problem-solving, and workplace expectationsAdvocate for reasonable workplace supports that promote independence and employment successCommunicate professionally with individuals, employers, families, case managers, DVR counselors, coworkers, and other team membersComplete employment plans, assessments, worksite evaluations, placement records, progress notes, check-ins, new-hire paperwork, and team updatesComplete accurate daily documentation, billing records, and service tracking that meet Medicaid, DVR, audit, and claims-testing requirementsManage schedules, verify attendance, and coordinate coverage to support consistent service deliveryTrack assignments, documentation, placements, employment outcomes, retention, and program goalsMeet established billable-hour, productivity, placement, retention, and program-development expectationsSupport employer outreach, referral development, marketing, and overall employment-program growthAddress employment barriers, workplace concerns, scheduling needs, and service issues with urgency and sound judgmentMaintain required Job Development and Placement training and credentialsProvide other direct services within the employee’s training and assigned responsibilitiesReport suspected mistreatment, abuse, neglect, or exploitation as a mandatory reporter QualificationsA high school diploma or GED and at least one to two years of professional experience are required. Candidates must also meet at least one of the following:Bachelor’s degree or higher in rehabilitation services, psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, special education, or a closely related fieldNationally recognized supported-employment certificate or certification *can complete upon hire*At least one year of full-time experience providing successful job-placement servicesAdditional requirements include:Must be at least 18 years old due to driving responsibilitiesValid driver’s license and reliable transportationAbility to meet motor vehicle record requirements and transport individuals receiving services when neededAbility to pass required criminal background and Child and Adult Protection Services checksAbility to work independently, manage changing priorities, and meet deadlinesStrong communication, organization, documentation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to perform the physical requirements of the positionWillingness to complete and maintain CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, NVCI, and other required training or certificationsWillingness and ability to implement trained emergency, de-escalation, and NVCI procedures when necessary and authorized Why Join Sample Supports?Sample Supports provides comprehensive community-based services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
