Electrical Maintenance Technician - Day Shift Location: Paterson, WA | Job Requisition ID: Req-260720 | Time Type: Full Time Job Description Summary Responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance and electrical troubleshooting, and solving equipment issues and assisting in continuous improvement efforts. Job Responsibilities Install and modify new and existing mechanical electrical equipment according to installation instructions. Perform equipment start-ups, repairs, and overhauls. Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures. Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems. Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems. Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts such as gaskets or seals in electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and modifications to the mechanical electrical systems as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans and technical documents. Utilize troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills to diagnose problems and determine a course of action to remedy the problem. Physical Environment / Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, taste or smell, climb or balance. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop or kneel; frequently work near moving mechanical parts, around electrical equipment, and open circuits. May work on wet, icy, or greasy floors. Frequently exposed to extreme cold surroundings. Exposed to humid conditions as well as hot and cold environments. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. Work environment typically has high noise levels. Basic & Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of electrical theory and its application. Knowledge of safety procedures applicable to working with and on live circuits. Knowledge of electrical construction and maintenance practices and procedures. Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical problems and devise and execute effective repair plans. Ability to communicate technical information. Skill in the practical application of electrical testing devices. Ability to troubleshoot and install control circuits. Teamwork and communication skills including leadership, problem solving, adaptability/flexibility, and time management. Ability to perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision. Two years of journeyman level electrical experience preferred. Four years of food processing maintenance experience preferred. Equipment and Tool Knowledge Hand tools. Power activated tools.
