Make a difference in the lives of students while using your expertise as a School Social Worker in a supportive educational environment. This contract position near Paramount, CA, offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators and families to empower young learners and foster a positive school climate.
Ideal candidates have a background in school social work and are passionate about providing comprehensive support for students facing academic, behavioral, or social challenges. You’ll be instrumental in assisting individuals and groups, helping students discover new tools for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Social Worker appropriate for school settings
- Experience working with youth in educational environments preferred
- Strong assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention skills
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to create and implement intervention plans tailored to students’ unique needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and interventions to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral issues
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies for student success
- Conduct assessments and collaborate in the creation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other support documents as needed
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students and families, connecting them with community resources
- Facilitate small groups and classroom presentations on social skills, conflict resolution, and other relevant topics
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district reporting requirements
