Job Summary Manages the performance of all aspects of Front End Operations, including cash management, bookkeeping, front‑end service, and payroll. Coordinates community and store event programs throughout the store. Minimum Required Qualifications Directly supervises cashiers, bookkeepers, front‑end supervisors. Associate Degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or university; or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills are a must. Background in store operations and work scheduling required. Ability to read and interpret general business reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence; to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions; to apply them to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage abstract and concrete variables. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Noise level typically moderate. Essential Job Functions Maintains security of all store systems, including IBM, Wakefern Applications, and DSD. Ensures proper maintenance and usage of job‑related equipment. Reviews and corrects transaction journals, check overrides, negative entries, cash control, refunds, promotions, customer service and Front End Culture standards. Maintains all shrink initiatives and ensures procedures such as Smart Store are followed. Achieves or surpasses department productivity and payroll goals. Submits reports to store and corporate management for key indicators. Administers company policies on check cashing, refunds, exchanges, gift certificates as per policy. Ensures compliance with Wakefern Food Corporation, state and company QA, sanitation standards. Maintains cash handling procedures. Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and development of all department personnel. Manages others in adherence with HR policies and labor laws. Ensures training programs for front‑end personnel, bookkeeping, and payroll are documented. Troubleshoots system/hardware issues related to operations. Communicates to store management and support staff on any operations issues. Counsels team members who do not meet performance standards. Ensures customer satisfaction through superior service. Educates customers with proper signage concerning events and programs. Analyzes financial and operational processes for cost savings. Meets financial goals as outlined in the annual budget. Handles customer complaints per company standards. Hold a company‑recognized Food Safety Certification or complete training to obtain and maintain it. Other duties as assigned.
