This acute care position involves managing individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles in a maternity setting. The role requires providing care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods within a dedicated LDRP unit. Job Details: Schedule: 12-hour shifts, on call as needed, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Active Alaska state Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum of 2 years recent Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience; certifications including HS AED, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and STABLE; completion of medication testing within first two weeks on site Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech and OBIX systems; familiarity with bedside fetal monitoring; ability to float to other units/departments if required Additional Information: Manages evidence-based nursing care aligned with departmental policies and standards of practice. Utilizes equipment such as Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, and bedside fetal monitors. Conducts unit-specific training including Meditech and OBIX, plus an orientation program. Follows unit procedures for on-call shifts and patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The unit includes 4 labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) rooms and 5 nursery/postpartum beds, with patient-to-nurse ratios adhering to national standards. Scrubs are provided per dress code policy.
