Solar Field Service Lead (Lost Hills, CA)

Position Overview Field Service Technician Levels1‑4 responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting solar, battery storage, and high‑voltage substation equipment across the U.S. Responsibilities Perform, direct, and supervise site maintenance and repair tasks. Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company and industry safety standards. Implement repairs on unfamiliar solar equipment with minimal training. Supervise and train Solar Technician LevelsI‑IV. Prepare accurate documentation and reports on site operations. Assess and suggest process improvements and coordinate with EPC management. Respond “on‑call” for emergency equipment repairs. Collaborate with PM, management, OCC, HV, SCADA, Performance, Networking/IT, and Compliance teams. Maintain accessibility to remote locations in extreme weather. Provide detailed cost estimates and vendor coordination. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (Vocational/Technical training a plus). Minimum 4 years of solar facility maintenance and repair experience. Advanced computer operation skills; ability to use system monitoring applications. Advanced knowledge of solar systems/plants, protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters, transformers. Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues. Passed exams on international/domestic electrical schematics, electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams. Valid OSHA30 and NFPA70e safety certifications. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to work independently, in teams, under extreme weather, and on an “on‑call” basis. Physical Demands Work in harsh outdoor environments, frequent stooping, lifting 50lbs or more, exposure to vibration, dust, fumes, electric shock, and high noise levels.
