Occupational Therapist (OT) – Full-Time

Starting Pay: $40.00/hour (Increases Based on Experience)

Avir at Abilene is seeking a compassionate and motivated Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our exceptional in-house rehabilitation team in Abilene, Texas.

Our in-house rehabilitation department works collaboratively to develop customized treatment plans that exceed industry standards while fostering a positive and rewarding work environment.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Consult with residents to evaluate their physical condition and its impact on daily activities, independence, and quality of life

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and interpret assessment findings

• Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions to maximize performance in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)

• Assess resident environments and recommend appropriate modifications and adaptive equipment

• Provide education and training on adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques

• Deliver treatment according to the established plan of care

• Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, safety, and functional independence

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation team members to ensure outstanding resident care

• Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations

• Attend required interdisciplinary meetings and maintain compliance with all facility policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Active and valid Texas Occupational Therapist license

• License in good standing with all regulatory agencies

• Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred

• Knowledge of current occupational therapy treatment practices

• Experience with Net Health electronic documentation is preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively with residents of varying diagnoses and personalities
