Primary location: Hilliard, Ohio Relocation offered: No Employment status: Full-Time Travel: Non-compete: No The estimated base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location) What's in it for you Opportunity to lead impactful process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment Hands-on role where you can own projects from idea through execution Exposure to new product development (NPD) and plant innovation Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, technical teams, and leadership Opportunity to apply and expand knowledge in: Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Statistical process control High visibility role with the ability to drive measurable plant performance improvements Strong opportunity to develop technical leadership skills What You’ll Do Identify and lead manufacturing process improvement projects Analyze production issues using data and on-the-floor observations Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Ensure products meet technical specifications and quality standards Plan and execute factory tests and experiments Evaluate results, write reports, and drive follow-up actions Serve as a project leader for initiatives such as: Cost reduction New product development Energy optimization Process improvements Act as a technical leader within a production area Drive adoption of scientific and engineering principles across the plant Lead cross-functional teams to achieve improvement goals Partner with operators and team leads on hands‑on troubleshooting Apply Lean, Six Sigma, DOE, and SPC tools to improve performance What will make you successful Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements Hands‑on approach to troubleshooting and process optimization Strong project management and execution skills Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams Effective communication skills (technical and non-technical) Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities Detail‑oriented with strong accuracy and critical thinking Self‑starter who takes initiative and ownership Qualifications Bachelor's degree in: Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to: Multi-task Work independently Manage multiple responsibilities What will make you stand out 3+ years of process engineering experience in manufacturing Experience with: Minitab Microsoft Access Background in: Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma methodologies Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification Experience with: Design of Experiments (DOE) Statistical Process Control (SPC) Proven ability to: Lead process improvements Drive cost savings and efficiency gains Strong ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions Why should you join Armstrong World Industries?
