Performs a variety of imaging modalities under the clinical direction of a Radiologist, Cardiologist, or Vascular Surgeon.
Education and Credentials Required:
Required Graduate of an accredited program of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Sonography. Registered through the ARDMS as RDMS, RDCS, RVT or Cardiovascular Credentialing International as RVS or RCVS with at least two specialty areas. (Abdomen, OB/GYN, Neuro, Adult Echo, Pediatric Echo, Vascular, or Breast); BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
Work Experience:
Two years experience. A cardiovascular imaging tech must be competent in adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography, vascular sonography and surgical guidance. A medical sonography imaging tech must be competent in abdomen, ob/GYN, neurosonography, breast, small parts, pediatric hip and spine, invasive procedures, and surgery guidance.
