Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide advanced critical care nursing to patients in the CVICU, including direct management of post-operative cardiac surgery patients and those requiring specialized cardiovascular interventions. Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, acuity-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive critical care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those with open-heart procedures.
• Monitor and interpret pressure readings, Swan-Ganz, and Impella device data to assess patient status.
• Manage patients on CRRT and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner EMR and ensure all required documentation and certifications are up to date prior to start.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient acuity.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, travel requirements, and certification standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in WV or a Compact state, with license verification within 2 days of submission.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent RN experience in CVICU or cardiac ICU settings, including open-heart admissions from OR.
• Demonstrate proficiency with critical care skills such as pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz, Impella, and CRRT management.
• Be ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certified through the American Heart Association.
• Be flexible to work 3x12 night shifts and willing to comply with travel and documentation requirements.
