A leading electronics testing company seeks an Optical Manufacturing Technician to assemble, align, and test its optical interferometer family of products.

Optical Manufacturing Technician Responsibilities:

• Follow optical cementing procedures to complete optic-to-optic and optic-to-metal assemblies, and assemble and align optics using custom, high-precision mechanical tooling and fixtures.
• Use optical test equipment (Fizeau interferometers, autocollimators, power meters, oscilloscopes, microscopes) to conduct in-process and final testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Run test software and applications, and input test data into Excel spreadsheets.
• Transport test and product fixtures weighing up to 40 lbs from storage to production areas and back.
• Inspect and handle delicate and small precision optical components to prevent surface quality issues such as digs, chips, and scratches.

Optical Manufacturing Technician Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience working in optical test and alignment, including troubleshooting and repair of optical systems.
• Ability to work in a Class 1000 cleanroom.
• Proficiency with optical tools and instruments, including autocollimators and Fizeau interferometers.
• Ability to lift heavy tooling up to 40 lbs.
• Background working with computers, including running technical applications, performing data entry into MS Excel, and general Windows-based skills.
• Ability to cross-train in a flexible manufacturing cell environment.
• Strong understanding of optical principles and systems.

Shift:

• Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  Some OT may be expected.
