Role Overview This is a full-time, field-based Dog Walker role covering Mountain View & Palo Alto. You will provide daily exercise, companionship, and attentive care for our clients' dogs. Your primary focus will be navigating assigned routes safely, managing dog behavior using ABA tools, and maintaining flawless communication with both owners and our internal team. As the company scales, you will also record dog behavior data. As a young organization, we are scaling intentionally. Key Responsibilities Attentive Care & Exercise: Provide daily walks, companionship, and basic care on assigned routes, ensuring absolute safety and monitoring dog behavior at all times. ABA-Informed Behavior Management: Apply reinforcement, shaping, and well‑timed encouragement to manage varying temperaments and energy levels safely and calmly. Instruction & Protocol Compliance: Follow precise, individualized care instructions and schedules set by pet owners and the team. Behavior & Training Reinforcement: Utilize knowledge of behavior to manage varying temperaments and energy levels safely; reinforce basic training commands as requested by clients. Documentation & Communication: Maintain professional, respectful communication with pet owners. Document visits thoroughly and report any health or behavioral concerns immediately. Operational Excellence: Maintain clean walking areas, manage time effectively to meet all daily schedules, and embrace new service enhancements and technical tools as the company grows. Qualifications & Requirements Behavior Health Expertise: Proven experience in behavior health, with the ability to read behavior, manage various conditions/temperaments, and monitor basic health and safety needs. Communication & Professionalism: Strong interpersonal skills to interact clearly with clients and seamlessly coordinate schedules with the team. Reliability & Autonomy: High school diploma or equivalent, exceptional time management, attention to detail, and the self‑discipline to work independently in the field. Logistics & Physical Demands: Must have reliable transportation to and from field locations (Mountain View). Must be physically able to handle and walk multiple dogs, lift moderate weight as needed, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Animal Handling: Prior professional animal handling or certifications are a major plus. Commitment to Growth: A team‑first mindset with the flexibility to navigate the shifting phases of a young company.
