At Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency (ATA Bus), our Customer Service Specialists are essential to our operations and support our mission: to provide and promote the highest quality transit services to the Flint Hills communities.
Our riders depend on ATA Bus for safe and reliable public transportation services in Manhattan, Junction City, Ft. Riley, and parts of Pottawatomie County.

 
We are currently hiring a full-time Customer Service Specialist who is friendly, reliable, and customer-service-focused. Join our team!

 
**Compensation**: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour (Pay depends on skills and experience).

 
**Shift Details**: - This is a full-time position with variable scheduling based on operational needs. - Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, mornings, and evenings. - Schedules may vary during training and adjust over time.

 
**What Our Customer Service Specialist Does **: - Communicate effectively through radio, telephone, and computer equipment to assist Bus Operators and the public. - Direct and monitor ATA Bus vehicles and routes. - Report traffic issues such as construction, accidents, congestion, and weather conditions. - Communicate work assignments to Bus Operators and serve as a liaison between Bus Operators and Mechanics. - Schedule rides and answer questions regarding our services. - Manage software that tracks vehicles. - Document and maintain files and records. - Provide information to internal teams.

 
**Minimum Qualifications**: - High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of customer service experience. - Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). - Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in computer use, data entry speed, and accuracy, Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, phone skills, and the ability to work independently. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Solid organizational abilities with strong attention to detail. - Capability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining high standards. - Effective time management skills. - Must be a self-starter.

 
**Additional Information** : - The job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds consistently.

**Drug Screening** : This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and random drug screening.
