For more information, visit: Responsibilities:Thorough understanding of current traffic engineering standards and practicesWorking knowledge of drafting, traffic analysis, and simulation programs (Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, AUTOCAD) is required. Knowledge of VISSIM and SIDRA is a plusGood writing skills with the ability to prepare reports and memorandums. Interest in learning and growing as a professional while mentoring younger staff to strengthen the teamAttendance at industry events and networking. Qualifications:BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus on Traffic/Transportation preferred7+ years of traffic engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be consideredPE is required (CT preferred), and PTOE, and RSP are plusses.Experience developing conceptual intersection/corridor options is a plusInterest and experience in working on complete streets projects is a plusExperience with urban design and current design practices for multi-modal accommodation is a plusExperience working on CTDOT projects is a plusRequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationPossess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job siteRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
