Position Announcement The Department of Biological Sciences a at Utah Tech University inSt. George, UT invites applications for a full-time tenure-trackAssistant Professor position with a focus on Wildlife Managementand Conservation. This position is well-suited for a seasonedprofessional scientist dedicated to teaching lecture and laboratorycourses at a primarily undergraduate institution that emphasizesexcellent in teaching and research. More information about theDepartment and its associated programs and faculty can be foundonline at Responsibilities Teach 24 credits of lower division lecture and laboratorycourses each academic year, including upper division courses inapplicant’s area of expertise as well as introductory and generaleducation courses. Collaborate with other full-time faculty oncurriculum development of both lab and lecture courses to ensuresimilar learning core themes, and assist/mentor part-timeinstructors as needed. Coordinate select lab courses, including overseeing lab set-upand take down, ordering of supplies, and supervision of labinstructors. Attend department, division, and college faculty meetings. Workwith other faculty in program management. Adhere to universitypolicies. Involve undergraduate students in research andexperiential-learning projects in applicant's area of expertise, astime permits. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications PhD in Biology, Environmental Science, or closely relateddiscipline from an accredited college of university required. Experience with geospatial technology or conservation andresource management preferred. Professional background in laboratory management, laboratoryresearch, etc. preferred. Evidence of potential for successful teaching at the collegelevel required. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work with and assist part-time instructors. An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff andadministrators to develop ways to improve the educationalexperience for our students. POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time(9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service with payand benefits starting January 2027. Annual salary of$60,000-$66,000 depending on qualifications and experience, withadditional compensation available for optional summer/overloadteaching.
