The Associate Director will guide internal engineering teams on best practices across DevSecOps, software architecture, and security architecture, while also advising leadership on strategic decisions to evolve and scale the platform. This role involves overseeing the development of both in-house solutions and the integration of off-the-shelf vendor technologies to support platform capabilities. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across multiple globally distributed engineering organizations, driving platform design, architecture, and execution in collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You will work closely with business partners and DTCC technology risk assessment teams to ensure alignment between platform capabilities and enterprise objectives. In addition, you will play a critical role in advancing DTCC’s mission by ensuring the Web3 platform is built to support secure, scalable, and production-ready workloads. Your leadership will directly influence the successful delivery and ongoing evolution of Web3 capabilities across DTCC functions.Your Primary Responsibilities:Lead and mentor senior engineers across multiple product linesDefine and implement cloud-first and middleware-integrated technology roadmaps in collaboration with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product teamsPromote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvementCloud & Middleware Engineering Drive the design and development of cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or GCPLead all aspects of migration of existing systems to different cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and securityLead integration efforts using technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Cloud Managed Databases, API gateways, and service meshesChampion engineering standard methodologies including DevSecOps, microservices architecture, and API-first designAutomation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) based delivery Ensure systems meet performance, compliance, and regulatory standardsEvaluate new technologies and guide adoption to improve DTCC’s technology stack. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable engineering plansCommunicate effectively with senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. Qualifications:Proven 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership roleBachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldProven experience designing and delivering cloud-native applications on a large scaleDeep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Talents Needed for Success:Strong experience with technologies such as Messaging systems, managed databases, container orchestrators, or similar. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and enterprise software development. Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Experience in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. Familiarity with cloud security, data governance, and compliance frameworks. Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and API management platforms. The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
