Job Description: St. Mary’s Hospital Full-Time | 40 hours/week | Benefits Eligible Shift: Varied Pay Range: $29.14 – $44.94/hour (based on experience) Join Our Team at St. Mary’s Hospital St. Mary’s Hospital is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our imaging team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams while collaborating closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care.

Position Overview As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures using specialized equipment, ensuring quality and accuracy while maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout the exam process. Essential Functions Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions

Verify patient identification and orders, and prepare patients for imaging procedures

Perform exams according to established protocols and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy

Adhere to radiation safety standards and maintain a safe working environment

Complete studies efficiently while maintaining high standards of care and quality

Assist with training and mentoring students and fellow technologists on procedures, positioning, and equipment

Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address patient concerns

Follow infection control protocols and sterile techniques as appropriate

Operate imaging equipment and related information systems effectively

Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient data, and any adverse reactions

Follow established protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and quality control

Report equipment issues and ensure compliance with departmental standards

Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of anatomy and imaging techniques

Image evaluation and quality assessment

Proficient in equipment operation and electronic imaging systems

Understanding of contrast protocols

Ability to respond effectively in emergent situations

Strong independent work ethic with a collaborative team mindset

Clear and professional communication skills

Strong prioritization and organizational skills

Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and patient-centered environment

Minimum Qualifications ARRT (R) certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Current Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers

Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
