Machinist

As a Machinist, you will participate as a member of the production team to set up and operate CNC milling machines, lathes and manual mills and lathes. You will aid in the production of our product by producing precision parts to close tolerances, instruments and tools. Responsibilities Independently set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines. Create fixtures to increase productivity of team members and decrease set up times. Machining of parts needed for the current week's production schedule in a timely and effective manner. Machining of custom parts from stock using manual & Proto Trak CNC machines. Builds and repairs machine shop tools. Performs necessary calculations and correct interpretation of prints and drawings. Input and recommendations for new designs and product upgrades/improvements. Skills / Qualifications High school diploma or its equivalent. Academic background, special training and experience in the principles of designing and machining parts. 5 years of experience minimum. Excellent knowledge of complicated mathematics, English and Metric units of measure. Skilled in the use and programming of Proto Trak CNC machines as well as manual lathes, mills and other manufacturing machines and equipment. Skilled in the use of special hand, standard tools, precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers. J.R.
