Insurance Litigation Associate Attorney

Los Angeles, California

Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice at a leading global law firm. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of complex and sophisticated commercial litigation experience , with exposure to insurance litigation.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal.

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.

• Prepare complex case analyses, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.

• Conduct, propound, and respond to discovery, including document discovery, written discovery, and depositions.

• Work closely with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.

• Manage case strategy and litigation matters in collaboration with partners and clients.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of complex and sophisticated commercial litigation experience required.

• Genuine interest in insurance litigation required.

• Strong writing, legal research, case management, and oral advocacy skills.

• Experience handling clients and opposing counsel.

• Deposition and court experience preferred.

• Previous law firm experience strongly preferred.

• Exceptional analytical and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Strong networking and business development skills.

• Active California Bar license and good standing required.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $235,000–$260,000 , based on experience and location. A competitive benefits package and discretionary bonuses are also offered.
