We LEARN, GROW, and INNOVATE The pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of a pharmacy, including processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service to patients. The pharmacy technician must comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice. Areas of Accountability This position is directly accountable for the following key areas: Process prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner, including entering prescription information into the pharmacy’s computer system, counting and packaging medications, and labeling prescriptions with patient information. Follow federal and state laws, professional standards, and ethical principles. Additionally, maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhere to infection-control protocols, and ensure medications are handled correctly to prevent errors. Manage inventory levels of medications, ordering medications as necessary and ensuring that inventory is properly rotated and stored. Provide excellent customer service to patients, Participate in quality assurance activities to enhance pharmacy operations. Education, Licensure/Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician license PTCB Certification Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements: High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong adaptability and ability to work under pressure. Ability to manage change effectively and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. High level of discretion and confidentiality. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills Proficiency with pharmacy software Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
