Position: Travel RN - Telemetry

Shift Information

Shift: 7A - 7P

Unit Information

Unit: Telemetry / 2 South

Location: Thornton, CO

Number of Beds: 18

Staffing:

Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs
Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs

Patient Ratios: RN 5:1

Equipment: GE wireless telemetry boxes, Welch Allen vital sign machines

EMR: Meditech

Qualifications

Must Have:

Minimum of 1 year of current acute care Telemetry RN experience
BLS & ACLS certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

NIH Certification
Experience in trauma/orthopedic nursing
Neuro/stroke experience

Typical Procedures on the Unit

Neurovascular checks on limbs
Frequent ambulation and repositioning
Orthopedic precautions
Comprehensive pain control management

The unit is characterized by a positive and collaborative atmosphere, welcoming new staff and promoting teamwork. Many team members have over 10 years of experience, creating an environment that is supportive and rich in mentoring opportunities. The unit treats a varied patient population, including trauma and orthopedic injuries, allowing nurses to gain experience with conditions such as:

Blunt force trauma
Poly trauma
Spinal cord injuries (SCIs)
Gunshot wounds (GSWs) and stabbings
Standard telemetry patients (e.g., chest pain, stroke work-ups, chronic cardiac conditions such as CHF and Afib)
Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs)
