Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive outpatient nursing care in an oncology clinic setting, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices. Supervises and guides nursing staff, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care and education.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and collect relevant patient health data to inform diagnosis and care planning.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans aimed at achieving optimal outcomes.
• Coordinate treatment and support services by collaborating with healthcare team members and patients' families.
• Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, medication management, and health promotion.
• Prepare patients for outpatient procedures, assist with minor surgeries, and ensure proper setup of rooms and equipment.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to nursing team, overseeing their activities and ensuring proper documentation.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Possess a minimum of 2-3 years of recent nursing experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Demonstrate proficiency in oncology nursing practices and patient education.
• Have valid certification in ONC/ONCC-CHIM (or equivalent) as required.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking, communication, and team collaboration skills.
