Clinical Laboratory Scientist I

Abbott seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to perform moderate and highly complex laboratory testing on clinical specimens in a diagnostics setting. The role involves specimen processing, quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and documentation of analytical work in a Saturday-Tuesday evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests following standard operating procedures
• Execute, review, and document quality control procedures and equipment maintenance
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance and laboratory operations
• Prepare reagents and manage inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations
• Participate in testing, validation, and mentoring of new laboratory procedures and personnel

Requirements

• Associate degree in laboratory science, biological science, or medical laboratory technology from accredited institution
• Minimum 24 semester hours medical laboratory technology or science coursework including chemistry and biology
• Authorization to work in United States without sponsorship
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform repetitive technical motions
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment operation and troubleshooting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to quality assurance and patient confidentiality standards
