About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support in a wide range of corporate legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic and tactical legal initiatives, including but not limited to, corporate policies, procedures, and programs. This role involves serving as a legal advisor on business transactions, managing legal aspects of governmental investigations, and ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws. The Assistant General Counsel will also be involved in intellectual property law matters, employee benefits, and various other legal issues as assigned. Supervisory responsibilities include managing the Corporate Paralegal and working with outside counsel and experts. Applicants for the Assistant General Counsel position at the company must have a law degree, be admitted to at least the Louisiana bar, and have a minimum of ten years' of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm environment. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in labor and employment law, intellectual property rights, and experience in working with law firms in foreign jurisdictions. Familiarity with construction law and the construction industry is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing legal resources, be adept at handling a variety of legal matters, and have experience in corporate governance and working with a board of directors. The position demands a professional who is capable of making sound legal decisions, managing multiple projects, and ensuring that the company's legal activities are in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
