Rehabilitation Specialist, Residential Treatment

The Adult Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides services for persons ages 18 and older with serious mental illness, including individuals with co‑occurring substance use disorders or developmental disabilities. Our teams craft individualized plans for the residents to reach the highest level of recovery possible. This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position that requires availability to work Sunday-Thursday 7am-3pm in Frederick, MD. What to expect This is an opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment. You will provide a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages the overall independence and wellbeing of your clients. Responsibilities Act as a residential counselor, working one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization. Ensure medication compliance, including safety, dosage, and cleanliness. Work as part of a collaborative service team to develop and implement individual service plans. Provide transportation and attend clients’ medical appointments, offering advocacy services throughout the appointment and ensuring that follow-up instructions are documented and/or followed. As you spend time with your clients, you will develop a rapport where you become part of their trusted support system. You will celebrate their victories as your own and cheer them on as they progress in their recovery. All direct care staff will be thoroughly trained to provide all services and will receive supportive and ever-present mentorship from senior staff members as they perform the requested duties. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Willingness to obtain additional certifications and training as required. Driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle. Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
