Primary Care Physician - Partnership Opportunity!

Are you an enthusiastic and patient-centered physician eager to establish a successful practice in a lively community? Our organization is seeking a committed Primary Care Physician to become part of our expanding team in Portsmouth, VA.

Position Overview

• Location: Portsmouth, VA

• Schedule: Options for Part-Time (3 days per week) or Full-Time availability

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Candidates must be Board Certified (BC) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible (BE) and within two (2) years post-residency.

• Experience: Previous experience in an outpatient primary care environment is preferred, though exceptional new graduates with a keen interest in outpatient medicine will also be considered.

• License: An Active Virginia Medical License and DEA registration are required or must be obtained.

• Mindset: A positive, collaborative attitude with a dedication to team-oriented care and outstanding patient service is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The Primary Care Physician will deliver comprehensive, traditional primary care, emphasizing continuity and preventive health measures.

• Patient Panels:

  • Family Medicine (FM): Provide care for patients aged 5 and older.

  • Internal Medicine (IM): Care for adult patients aged 18 and older.

• Primary Care Duties:

  • Diagnose and manage a wide array of acute and chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, cold/flu) through thorough histories and physical examinations.

  • Deliver essential preventive care, health maintenance services, and patient education, including annual wellness exams and routine vaccinations.

  • Order, interpret, and ensure timely follow-up on all diagnostic tests, lab results, and imaging studies accurately.

  • Manage all patient medical documentation efficiently using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Coordinate care with specialists, manage referrals, and perform minor office procedures (e.g., skin tag removal, joint injections) as appropriate based on training.

The salary for this position ranges from $220k-$240k in base pay, exclusive of bonuses or benefits. The offered base pay will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
