Details 26-bed Medical unit with 6:1 patient ratios Shift runs 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM Techs available to support unit staffing Equipment includes Hoyer lifts, rolling computers, and rolling vital signs machines Documentation completed in Meditech Scheduled for 4 weekend shifts per month May float to Surgical or Acute Rehab units as needed Unit receives patients returning from cath lab heart procedures Requirements Active RN license (UT or Compact) required BLS certification required BSN preferred Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience preferred Proficient in medication administration and controlled substance management Knowledge of normal vital sign and lab value limits Advanced skills required: NG/NJ tube management, chest tube care, and heparin drip administration US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical unit supporting heart procedure recovery patients Join a supportive team known for helping new staff succeed Unit has received recognition including a Safety Catch Award and multiple Daisy Awards Required dress code: navy blue scrub tops and bottoms Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted American Traveler Job ID P-750244.
