Registered Nurse
Full-Time (36 hours per week - day shift, night shift, 11am-11pm, 3pm-3am)


Provides emergency patient care, supervises other licensed or certified personnel, and supervises pre-hospital personnel. The staff nurse functions within the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act of North Carolina.


Functions of Position (not an exhaustive list):
- Rapidly and accurately assess the patient's needs and establish priorities of care.
- Prescribe appropriate nursing interventions to facilitate patient care.
- Review patient medical and social history.
- Determine appropriate nursing actions to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Evaluate course of action in a timely manner to ascertain effectiveness of nursing interventions
- Promptly recognize and report clinical problems, changes in condition, or adverse reactions to the Emergency Department physician
- Elevate concerns to charge nurse, Assistant nurse manager, or Director as appropriate, reporting problems through the chain of command


Requirements


Qualifications:
a. Education:


• Graduate of an approved school of nursing


• Current licensure in the state of North Carolina or Compact State as a Registered Professional Nurse


• BLS certification


• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire


• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire


• Preferred two (2) years Med/Surg, ER, or ICU experience
