Medical AssistantBasic Function: To assist in the provision of quality health care. Provide clerical support to the unit. Assists with clinical procedures as required.Principal Accountabilities:Assist clinical support with rooming patients, electronic chart documentation, recording vital signs, follow up on provider orders, phlebotomyAssist with preparation for treatments and procedures without medication administrationAssist in maintaining clinical supplies and cleanliness of work areaPerform CLIA lab controls and quality checks according to policy scheduleAssist with regulatory audits as requestedSchedule patient appointments according to guidelinesTo engage in Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives, including participating as part of the Clinical Care TeamAny other clinical duties and responsibilities as requested by management and supervisionRequirements:High school diploma or GEDGraduate of a certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant ProgramCertification as CMA or CNA preferredMust demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite and electronic medical record systemMust possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisorsMust possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situationsMust maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and co-workersMust be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position
