This position plays a key role in detecting and locating underground utility lines and pipes. This position also requires high physical activity, excellent attention to detail, and exceptional flexibility day to day.***Salary Transparency: Pay for this role is at $25/hour.***What You’ll DoLine Locating:Receive work tickets from the 811 systemRead and interpret utility maps showing underground utilitiesUse magnetic sensing equipment and maps (Sure-Lock Utility Pro) to identify the location of underground utility lines and pipesUse color coded spray paint is used to mark the location and type (Electric, water, gas, telephone, etc.) of underground lineWork in various weather conditions and use shovels necessary to pin-point the location of underground utilitiesFollow strict Utility, State and Federal guidelines for Utility Line MarkingProvide records of work performed using a digital camera and laptopTeam Collaboration:Participate in safety meetingsProvide timely reports and documentation to management per proceduresEscalate issues and questions to Supervisor per proceduresReport customer, equipment and vehicle issues immediatelyCustomer Communication:Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authoritiesProvide general information about utility lines or pipes to customers, when applicableUse telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicateOther duties as assigned.About You:Must haves:Education: None. Must be at least 18 years of ageExperience: No experience necessary, employees will be trained. Upon hire, the candidate will need to complete and pass all Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training. Must possess a valid driver’s licenseNice to haves:Education: High School Diploma or GED.Experience: 1 or more years of experience in line locatingYour Skills:Ability to multi-task, and work independently and as a teamExceptional flexibility in daily routines and schedulingAdequate time management skills to finish work in a timely mannerExcellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with management and customersAbility to interact with unhappy or negative customers in a professional mannerExcellent attention to detail for problem solving and findingAbility to walk long distances and prepare for weather conditions, accordinglyThis role would not be a good fit if you:Do not enjoy working independentlyDo not enjoy working in outdoor conditionsDo not enjoy walking long distancesAre not flexible and do not enjoy adapting to your current work schedule or routineDo not have adequate planning and time management skills to finish a day’s work in a timely mannerTravel Requirements:This position may require travel.
