Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer

Salary: $120,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; a masters degree is a plus, or equivalent industry experience.
• We expect 7+ years of embedded firmware development experience, ideally in IoT, networking, or video streaming products.
• You should have strong programming expertise in Embedded C and C++.
• Experience developing software on RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms is required.
• You need solid knowledge of real-time multimedia applications, including video/audio processing, compression, and streaming technologies such as H.264 and H.265.
• We value experience with multithreaded and multitasking embedded software development.
• You should have hands-on experience developing and debugging embedded device drivers.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills in embedded systems are essential.
• Experience optimizing embedded software for performance and efficient resource usage is important.
• Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, RTP, RTSP, SIP, and WebRTC is expected.
• Experience with wireless technologies such as Wi‑Fi, BLE, and LTE is preferred.
• Familiarity with IoT communication architectures and cloud-connected devices is required.
• Hands-on use of hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers is needed.
• Experience using source control systems such as Git is required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams, are essential.

• We design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for IoT and video streaming products.
• We own major firmware components and features throughout the full product lifecycle, from design through production.
• We collaborate with Hardware, Cloud, Mobile, QA, and ODM partners to ensure smooth system integration and successful product delivery.
• We develop and integrate device drivers, communication protocols, RTOS components, and platform firmware.
• We troubleshoot and resolve complex firmware, hardware, and system-level issues.
• We optimize firmware for performance, memory usage, power consumption, and overall system reliability.
• We review board schematics, component datasheets, and hardware documentation to support firmware development and debugging.
• We participate in design reviews, code reviews, and root-cause analysis to strengthen software quality.
• We evaluate new SoCs, image sensors, wireless modules, and other hardware components for future product development.
• We mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and continuous process improvements.
• We support products through manufacturing and production.
• We work with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Lua when needed.
• We develop firmware for consumer IoT and smart home products.
• We work with industry protocols such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread, and Matter.
• We use Linux knowledge spanning memory management, file systems, and bootloaders such as U-Boot.
