CNC Lathe Machinist - Multiple Shifts Available - Direct Hire

$32 - $40 per hour

TekPro is partnering with a highly successful precision component manufacturer in the Wilmington, NC area that is continuing to grow its machining operations. Known for producing complex, tight-tolerance components for demanding industries, this organization has built an outstanding reputation by investing in advanced technology and skilled machinists. Precision manufacturing continues to be a growing sector in the Wilmington market, creating excellent long-term opportunities for experienced CNC professionals.

We're looking for experienced Swiss CNC Machinists who can perform machine setups and production on Star Swiss CNC machines. If you're an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist looking to transition into Swiss machining, we'd like to speak with you as well.

**Compensation

Experienced Star Swiss Setup Machinists: $32-$40/hr
Experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinists (Training into Swiss): $28-$30/hr
Operators with a few years of CNC experience: Starting around $25/hr
Potential sign-on bonuses available for exceptional Swiss Machinists.

**What You'll Do

As a Swiss CNC Machinist, you'll manufacture precision components while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

**Responsibilities include:

Set up and operate Star Swiss CNC machines.
Perform medium to advanced machine setups.
Install tooling, update offsets, and make program adjustments.
Load and run production according to manufacturing plans.
Monitor tool wear and replace tooling as needed.
Complete first-piece inspections and submit internal first articles to Quality.
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.

**Qualifications

Experience setting up and operating Star Swiss CNC machines
4+ years of CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment
Strong Swiss or CNC Lathe setup experience
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
Experience with precision inspection equipment
Four and five-axis machining experience is a plus

**Open to Training

Have a strong CNC Lathe setup background but haven't worked on Swiss machines?

Our client is willing to train experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinists who demonstrate strong machining fundamentals, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn Swiss machining.
